Servizio di Informazione
Enjoy your holiday alla italiana! In a country full of beauty, with its Mediterranean climate, endearing people and amazing culture.
When you immerse yourself into the world of Italy, you let yourself in for new customs and traditions. So much is different to home, but it means a fascinating and refreshing contrast to the daily routine.

Here is our useful "Servizio di Informazione" with its important tips for a successful holiday.
Arrival
Lovely! Arrive and straight away receive your rooms and set yourself up at home! You're particularly welcome when you arrive at your "Case in Italia" on Saturday between 4.00 pm and 7.00 pm. The landlord is looking forward to seeing you then, and has prepared everything. If you expect to arrive at a different time, please inform your host.
Arrivederci
Although it is hard to say goodbye.... when you do have to say farewell to your "Case in Italia", please do so no later than 10.00 am on Saturday.
Doctor
In Italy you will find doctors and first aid stations in all major centres. They are indicated with a red cross. Please provide yourself with sufficient medication for the duration of your holiday. Travellers should obtain information about protective medical measures in good time; if necessary, medical advice should be sought on thrombosis and other health risks. For general information, particular reference should be made to public health bodies, doctors experienced in travel medicine, tropical medical information, travel medicine information services or local health information centres.
Bathrooms
Of course there are bathrooms in Italy! The showers often consist simply of a shower head. There are not always shower curtains or cubicles.
Pets
A long journey and a different climate are not always the most pleasant experience for dogs and cats. If you still wish to bring your little friend, please check the accommodation footnote to see whether this is permitted by the homeowner. Sometimes a supplement is added to the cost of the final cleaning.
Cafè
Surely you know and love Italian coffee in all its forms? Even in your own Case in Italia you will find a coffee pot. Standard filter coffee can only be made if you bring your own ground coffee and filter papers. In Italy, only espresso grounds are available.
Accommodation
The apartments and houses from Case in Italia are usually privately owned and therefore individually furnished and equipped. Enjoy an "all'italiana" ambience which you won’t find in any tourist hotel!
Electricity
For your electrical equipment you should bring a Continental adaptor. Power outages are not uncommon in the country. Please be patient!
Heating
Especially in the off season, there may be cooler days, and therefore you should pack warm clothing. The heating, particularly in rural properties, does not always match what British and Irish guests are accustomed to.
Information
Your landlord is happy to provide you with local information. For further details about your holiday destination you should contact the local tourist office.
Rates
Unless otherwise stated, all prices that you find on Case in Italia’s website are per week.
Swimming
Bathing in the pools can be enjoyed, weather permitting, from 1 June until the end of September.
Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz ..........…
Is that sound familiar? Mosquitoes and insects also live in Italy, especially in the summer, a nuisance admittedly, yet they belong there as much as the impertinent crows and stray cats. Incidentally, they are not a sign of any lack of cleanliness, but are evidence of a natural environment in good order.
Roads
Naturally, your romantic "Case in Italia" is often not easily accessible on a main road. Most of the roads leading to the rural properties are unpaved, and are therefore exposed to the weather.
Laundry
Your landlord is happy to provide towels and bed linen for the number of guests required. These will be changed once a week, unless otherwise specified. Upon request, changes can be made more often. The landlord may require a supplement for this.
Water
In the summer months water is a precious commodity. Please be economical with it. Note that it is not uncommon for the water pressure to be below the optimum. In any event, for cooking and drinking in rural areas, mineral water should be used.
